Mancattan...
...is a romantic comedy that charts the ups, downs and neuroses of two twenty-somethings Mancunians, completely mystified with what their future purposes in life are meant to be.
Phil (Phil Drinkwater) suffers from a major Woody Allen obsession and the fact he is firmly stuck in 'the friend zone' with the love of his life, Rachel. Desperate to escape the fact Rachel is in a relationship with the hapless Vince (Vincent Heselwood) Phil sets a new direction for his life by concocting a plan to go to NYC and make a film about his idol... Meanwhile, Phil's sardonic best friend Col (Colin Warhurst) is slowly being consumed by the bitterness of leaving University education and entering the usual 9 to 5 instead of the dream job he envisioned making films. Feeling trapped in his relationship, job and an impending mid-twenties life crisis, Col hi-jacks Phil's idea to go to NYC by offering to be his camera-man. Of course, the dynamic duo fail to escape from any of these problems, and instead bring their neuroses across the pond to Manhattan; where the search for Woody Allen, a decent cup of tea and the meanings of life take place against the backdrop of the City that never Sleeps... |
